DataTurbine presentation at PASI Costa Rica
As part of the PASI workshop at the La Selva Biological Field Station, I gave a talk today on DataTurbine. I've attached the slides in PDF and PPT format.
I've uploaded the pictures to http://dataturbine.org/content/pasi-meeting-la-selva-costa-rica-june-200...

My thanks to Jim Beach, Julio Ibarra and Ana Carter for the transport and logistics.
This talk was a one-hour introduction to streaming data and distributed systems on the same day of the CENS Sensorkit (http://www.sensorkit.net/) workshop. The slides are, based on audience background, more introductory in nature than I usually present, and I presented as many applications as I could find to spark some discussion of how DataTurbine could assist their research. There's also a good discussion of the limitations of DataTurbine, when and where to use it (or not), and some of the ancillary requirements like system and health monitoring.
The talk seemed pretty well received, and the demo even worked!
